Key depressions per hour calculator
Enter what you typed, the time, and your mistakes to get gross and net speed in WPM and KDPH.
How it works
Gross speed is key depressions ÷ 5 per minute. Net speed takes off one word per mistake: (key depressions ÷ 5 − mistakes) ÷ minutes. KDPH is the same rate per hour: WPM × 5 × 60. So 35 WPM is 10,500 KDPH, and 30 WPM is 9,000.
